Senate OKs Aid for Manufacturers (6/26/04)
After seeing the budget go south earlier this year, The Manufacturing Extension Partnership is finally seeing its first glimmer of renewed hope for the future. On June 23, the Senate approved the Commerce Department to transfer about $21.8 million in unused funds to the Manufacturing Extension Partnership.

Also the MEP recently received important reaffirmation by an independent review panel at the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA), which concluded that the Commerce Department's Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) serves a critical need and fills a unique position as a provider of assistance to small manufacturers.
