How We Do It

How does MEP serve Utah?

MEP offers solutions through a combination of direct assistance from MEP center staff and a national network of more than 400 MEP Centers and field offices. They also utilize Academic, State and National resources, as well as affiliates.

At the heart of the MEP is a national network of MEP Centers and field offices that are located throughout the United States.

By accessing the project databases of more than 2,000 field engineers and specialist nationwide, the MEP leverages this expertise to help its clients, regardless of location.

Most projects begin with a proprietary Discovery Assessment©. From this assessment, performed by one or more senior MEP consultants, we help identify the 5 to 10 most important issues the client’s organization should be addressing over the proceeding 12 month period following our visit.

After the Discovery Assessment, the MEP develops a proposal specifying the projects and solutions to be performed. The proposal also defines the metrics or measurement methods used to ensure the MEP accurately addresses and delivers on its commitments to our clients. MEP then implements a combination of project-based processes as described above.

The MEP is unique among consulting groups in offering a performance and satisfaction guarantee.

Because of its non-profit status and affiliation with NIST, the MEP is held accountable for impact on clients served. One year after project completion, independent surveys with MEP clients are conducted to measure impact and results of the MEP’s efforts.
