MEP Utah is a co-sponsor of SBIR/STTR Phase I and Phase II workshops held at various times and places throughout the State. Following is a brief description of course content. Watch this web page for more information on the latest workshop schedule.
SBIR/STTR - Phase I Workshop
Usually a half-day in length, 8:30am - noon
Workshop is an introduction and overview covering the nuts and bolts of SBIR/STTR programs, pre-qualification issues for potential participants, information about getting ready to write, sample proposals, proposal-writing tips, and evaluation of actual writing samples and successful applicants.
SBIR/STTR - Phase II Workshop
Usually a half-day in length, 1:00pm - 4:30pm
Session focuses on Phase II proposals that will carry out your Phase I project work. Emphasis is on what's needed to be done beyond the Phase I work plan to prepare a competitive Phase II proposal that will eventually lead to successful technology commercialization.
Instructors, Cost
Instructors are experienced SBIR grant administrators who have had significant involvement in the SBIR/STTR programs. Workshop fee depends on location, co-sponsors who help underwrite part of the workshop expense, and instructor arrangements.
